While working with this image, I always had in my mind, many

women who have been around me in my life ... I've heard their

voices, her advices and I have been taught, thanks to several

generations of them.

They have told me their stories, about their lives and I myself have

felt their feelings, as being a part of their daily lives .

These southern women are brave, stubborn and hard working,

almost to be exhausted.

Beautiful and quiet and always very sweet . Jealous of their people

and of their things . They'll get worn along with life itself, together

with the land to which they belong.

Southern women are always present , they're the bliss and the

essential, without them, there's nothing.

I feel them equal to their environment, like the land, side by side with

the vegetation, wrapped in the same light ... for me they're all a

similar colour.

These women are impressed in my retina, their hands and its

peculiar shape that I can't forget; their faces and everything from

them inside me, still remains..... what they told me and taught me .

Southern women who have taught me so much, that led me to where

I am and what I am today.

I dedicate this work "Spanish Women" to them , although some are

no longer with us.

In fact... all women are special and important, but here I wanted to highlight the world around the southern women, the ones I know best, I myself was born in southern Spain. So I think you can understand all the nuances that surround the composition very well.

Their way of life, the color of the clay in the landscape... like their skin, drinking jugs with spouts... how they face problems and daily life, feeling blessed just surrounded by family. This is the whole idea in the image. A lonely woman at that moment waiting .... mixed in the atmosphere.

Thank you very much for your pleasant visit and positive feedback, very kind of you. Kindest regards! LM

¡Muchas gracias y encantada! Un saludo.

Dear Laura,

Before I read your textual input I said to myself this is a portrait of a woman which reaches the beginning of life, some kind of Eve and in scientific manner told a caveman's woman! That cave looking environment, that ancient pottery told that to my intuition, even when I saw the title, looked at you and finally understood that you look traditionally Spanish which I wasn't aware cause your name may also be Italian and in prejudice about all Spanish I see something connected with Arabian, the culture, the facial characteristics including the darker tone of the skin complexion!

I love your dedication text and the portrait itself!

Best regards

Dear Pierre,

Thanks for your visit, it's always very pleasant to read you and to look for your original comments.

Sorry, for not answering before..., it makes me happy to read your input. Yes, it's really nice to feel like an Eve... :) a nascent Eve!. I wanted to give so much importance to the vessels, to the old times, to the ancient pottery and houses and to make all like if everything was originated in the same color.

Yes, I'm Spanish. I was born in southern Spain. I do not know for sure but I think that my ancestors are part of Iberian people and people of the Caliphs, like everyone here.

Very glad that you've liked this photo and the introduction (I do like to write). Thanks for your positive comments and see you soon!.

Warm regards, LM

Dear Bill,

Thank you for your visit, for liking this work and the sensation of mistery it conveys... yes, I agree with you... it's a misterious and bizarre place and a lonely woman waiting... what? I don't know.

A place that maybe has never existed.

Very grateful for your appreciated visit and positive comments on my work and for your support!.

Fondly... Laura M.
