Thank you for viewing and for the kind appreciation.I took several shots of this as the sun was dropping and I moved around so that it was always directly behing the steeple;the few shots that I took looking at the sun just produced too much glare.This one had the best circular definition of the ''sundog'' as you note and I though I would dedicate it to my friend.

Thank you kindly.Since I dedicated this upload back in March,my friend JG has gone through a chimo-therapy treatment and to date the results are most encouraging....I like to think that the 800+ hits on this image plus the good wishes contributed to his recovery.

What a stunning and peaceful image you have here.  I would be tempted to crop the non-snow area on the left but to be perfectly honest that is so small an issue that it could be one of those times that I have where I crop an image, don't like it, recrop, don't like that, recrop, don't like that, and then go back to the original :-)  I've practiced that routine more than once :-)  The placement of the sun and the beautiful halo are absolutely perfect.  What an inspirational shot for an inspirational reason.  I hope your friend does well and I will keep you both in my prayers.  Take care my friend,

Thank you.My brother-in-law and my friend,both less than 70 were struck with serious health issues(cancer) at about the same time.My brother-in-law lost his bout but my friend JG came out ok and is in pretty good shape;I like to think all these good wishes had something to do with it.
