This is Angel's Landing in the Zion National Park. While I've visited twice, I

still have a hard time hiking up that thin ridge, even with the large chain

anchored in rock providing something to hold on to. Thanks for looking,

rating, and comments. Aloha.

Monumental dramatic landscape well detailed,Dominick. Full credit for climbing out of the valley for such a shot.

Breathtaking sight Dom. I can't get over the colours and textures in the rock faces. I can imagine the satisfaction of this type of 'trekking' and achieving the goal you have your eye on....but 'I can only imagine'. I don't know that I would ever be that brave. I look at that 'thin' ridge, and can't imagine crossing it. If you do make it over, you certainly have to have the guts to 'go back'. I admire your sense of 'adventure' and the 'inner drive' that makes you want to do such climbs. This Earth is so full of 'Wonders'. This location is surely one of those!!!

thanks so much for your story and for this beautiful image, kind regards, Gail

John, Gail, thank you for your comments.  I intend to do as many of these climbs as I can while I can.  Aloha.

Dominick,   First, I applaud you for making the climb with photo gear in tow.  We were at Zion a year ago, but didn't attempt this iconic and tough hike.  Nice image.  I've seen more wide angle shots from here and like your more telephoto rendition.  I am attaching your shot with the blue cast removed by processing in auto white balance.  I think the image has a little more pop with the blue cast removed; what do you think?    Larry

Great view of mountains of Zion and of the trail to Angels Landing.  I made this hike in the spring of 2013 on elderly legs and artificial hips, and it was an "exciting," wonderful hike.  I wish I had a photograph like this as a reminder of the hike and of Zion.  I think Larry's suggested edits are worth considering.

Larry,  Thank you, removal of the blue cast improves the image.  I sincerely appreciate the feedback.   Easy fix too!   Aloha.
