I was beginning to think that my photography is a bit too predictable. I don't make any excuses for this one but I have digitally altered this image to significantly increase the color - especially in the upper half. No elements have been added or subtracted - it is strictly the color enhancement.

I suspect folks will be split as to whether they like it or not. My spirit wanted to go down this path.

Tony,  I usually look on the bright side of things so even if you cheated just a little bit with your PS to get this spectacular view... I honestly don't mind and anyway who doesn't like such paradisiac landscapes.  Actually I wish I was there contemplating half that beauty.  It is an amazing sight!

Tony a landscape that really is eye catching and stands out. The atmospheric sky with the colours of the land is outstanding. A wonderful capture, best wishes William.

I think you've altered the sky, and it looks perfectly natural to my eye.  It's the bottom of the photo where my eye sees added saturation, especially in the lower left among the greens and yellow.  Regardless, it's a beautiful landscape.

I do not care If you have tweaked the color here! All it matters is the final result and this composition is extra fine. Colors, light, texture, all excelent! Wonderful work!

William, AJ, Stephen, Raymond and Yannis:

I like to add a bit more commentary but I am not sure what to say but I will start with an appreciative thanks for your visits, kind words and generous ratings.

This is a small part of Lac (French spelling)  Munroe in Provincial Park Mont Tremblant (Quebec) which is about 600 square miles in size and it was taken on 2nd October 2013. It is a about a 3 hour northerly drive from my home in Southern Quebec and for the first time for a local park, I decided to spend three days there.

I met a photo.net photographer from Ottawa and fortunately for me he has been coming to this park for almost 40 years and gave me the benefit of some choice locations.

Early in the morning the light and conditions seem to change rapidly which can be a benefit or a curse. These rays probably lasted only a few minutes before some other lighting showed up in a slightly different spot in this huge park which would cause me to think that I might be missing something even nicer. You have to quickly put that out of your head and focus on trying to do the best where you are at that moment.

Here are the directions to get there:

Diable Sector (Lac Monroe) - From Montreal take highway 15 to the 117 to St Faustin, then follow the signs north into the park. From Mont Tremblant resort take highway around the mountain to the southside bypassing the split to ski hill. At the T intersection take a right and follow the signs a short distance into the park.

All the very best,

My dear friend Roldão Lima Junior has just rated this with a '4' and rated the image with a washed out sky with electrical wires also with a '4'.

Just hoping that one day, he will see the difference.

Amazing shot Tony, perfect timing to capture the sun's rays...

Likely should have removed the green blob in the upper left which looks like flare to me-- or is that the sun?  I think the processing has been pushed too far because the image seems to be breaking down, especially on the mid right above the tree line.  Still, the image looks nice in a smaller format.

Jorge - many Thanks.

Jeff - appreciate the feedback. The little ball at the top left is the sun. Yup I agree about the "breakdown" - I will try and see if some selective noise reduction can fix that.  All the best,

Tony,  Wonderful image, really dramatic and warm colors.  How do you mean you have digitally altered the colors?  Are you doing this in CS6 or CS5?  Are you adding saturation and vibrance?  I would like to learn more about the process.   Thanks.  Larry

I love it, Tony.  The enhancement is not over-done in my opinion.  Yes, makes me want to go there.
