It is indeed a beautiful place, Dariusz, but it's going to be pretty cold there real soon. Regards.

That's good to know ....... was afraid you used the Photoshop 'Clear water' filter ........ (-;

Beautiful ....

My favorite of your posted images, this combines wonderful depth of color with the sense of physical depth in the water. Though it doesn't focus on "standard" compositional strong spots, it is wonderfully balanced while retaining a dynamism borne of the angle of view and strong leading curve. I'm not quite sure about the fade-to-white at the top, but the overall effect of this shot is excellent. Enjoy.

Now that I've been there and taken this photo, I feel like I can finally comment. I've been admiring this for a long time.

I like the tight crop of the sandstone on the right. It keeps the focus on the subject. The best part of this photo is the way the green fades to blue and then fades again to mist.

I'll be you had to set your tripod up very high to get this with a wide angle--the railing is difficult to avoid. Beautiful photograph.

Very high indeed David! I had my tripod fully extended and stood on my tip toes to get this one. The camera was actually overhanging the precipice and I was afraid that I would be going for an unwelcome cold swim. The U.P is one of my favorite places. Thanks for the visit and comment! Regards.

Walter, this is one of the most astonishing images I have ever seen. The clarity of the water and the way the terrain falls away from the shore make for an image I am unable to tear myself away from. Amazing doesn't do it justice. I love it!

The weakest point of this particular shot is the washed water at the top of the image. I'm not sure if this might have been avoidable with a grad. ND filter, but it might have been worth a shot. Tough to be the armchair photographer on this one. The exposure for the foreground is excellent and your composition is great. Congratulations!

Actually Jim, I think the part you find weak is one of the strongest features of this photograph. There was an early morning fog bank coming in off Lake Superior that day and you are seeing the advancing edge of it here. In my opinion, the weakest part are the highlights in the "castle rock" itself. But I thank you for your visit and comment in any case. Regards

I have a Pentax 67 with a 135mm macro lens!!! I never used it to take nature photos... Your portfolio is a great reference for me!!!

Thanks Luis! The 6x7 does a nice job with macro work but you need a lot of light and small apertures to get a good DOF. Keep up the good work. Regards.

Sadly, this iconic landmark has fallen into the lake as a result of erosion and storm damage. It is now just a "stump" of rock.

Hi Walter.

I've been to this spot, 30 years ago, before I had a decent camera. Pictured rocks is beautiful and you've captured that here. Did you get a chance to take one of the boat tours along the cliffs?
