Despite the reference in its title, I find this image to be full of whimsical fantasy.  The subject appears to be dancing, celebrating a fresh snowfall.

Yours is a powerful imagination.  It translates into a skillfully created photograph.

My best,

michaek

Nice to see a photo of yours chosen to be Photo of the Day. Processing works for me. Helps tell the story. The fade to . . . almost . . . white is effective, her right hand getting caught up in the atmosphere but still showing us the swirls which mirror the dress. The idea of the trees in the foreground would work in many instances. Here, I might prefer just a clean view of the rest of the scene without looking through those foreground grasses, but that's a relatively minor point.

Colin, Patrick, James and Michael;

Thank you so much! I enjoyed the whole process of creating this image, from start to finish. It marries photography and digital art, which is the best of both worlds for me. I'm pleased to see other people enjoying it as much as I do!~

Fred,

Thank you. I was pretty excited myself.
Oh, who am I kidding, I almost peed.
Thank you also for the critique. I know what you mean about the trees, and, to be honest, I'm not entirely sure how I feel about them myself. I'm always looking for ways to place my subject solidly within the scene, and including the foreground often seems to help...but how pleasing the result is may end up being relatively subjective with this photo.

I'm on this journey to create the visions that are inside my head, and while I know I've got a long way to go and so  much still to learn, I'm really excited about where I'm going!

I like what you've done with the model. Very creative. However, the rest of it doesn't do it for me. The overexposure from the hand up keeps pulling the eye from the model.

I like the snow, but the weeds intrude a bit
