Thanks for your appreciation. The photo is part of a series entitled

"Ageless Languedoc" which looks at both the architecture ands life that

seems changeless in that French territory inhabitated by descendents of

the 12th century Pays d'Oc.

Hi, Lannie. Thanks for your appreciation of the image and its colors and atmosphere. Life in the villages of southern France, especially those that are somewhat off the beaten track, seems so durable and natural to me. I wanted to try to capture some of that feeling and am lucky that the girl and her friend or mother didn't notice me. The next shot they did notice and that spoiled the atmosphere. I tried to use color harmonies in other shots of this series ("Ageless Languedoc") but I wish I was there as well, as there is much more to see and do in this agreeable territory.

This image really caught my attention when scrolling through this morning. I love the colour and detail in this market scene. By the way, I also enjoyed your portfolio. Best wishes.

Garry, many thanks. In the shot following this one the ladies noticed me and the atmosphere changed. I did get a sort of smile from them and returned that with a "merci et bon matin", but although I was attracted by the colors of the market and of the two ladies I felt a bit uneasy about intruding in their shopping. I like how the younger one lightly holds her water bottle and bag. Markets are fun places and the people are often relaxed and accepting of camera holding strangers.

I visited your interesting portfolio and left a comment at your yellow door picture in lower town Quebec City. Thanks for noticing my portfolio.
