John Peri 1,033 Posted January 28, 2014 An elegant image obtained with an interesting approach, bravo. Look forward to seeing more of your work in this area. Link to comment
christophe_summers 0 Posted January 28, 2014 John, I know this defocused style might not be to everyones taste, but your comments I've found very encouraging. Many thanks, Chris Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted January 29, 2014 I do think the noise issues are the least of your worries. Focus / movement images usually only work if they have an anchor point. I see none here. Taste is a matter of opinion and I am guessing you like this. Link to comment
christophe_summers 0 Posted January 29, 2014 David, I tend to disagree with your thoughts of working within certain confines, for instance anchor points on blurred images. Shooting in difficult circumstances you either forget it or try and reflect the mood of the time.I really do appreciate you taking the trouble to express your opinion of what I realise could be a slightly controversial image.Regards, Chris Link to comment
wink_photo 0 Posted January 29, 2014 Christophe. I like the approach and look forward to seeing more of your work. I like the movement on the diagonal and the lighting. I am not that keen on the tone (cyan) but that is a matter of personal taste. However, I would like to hear your thoughts on that choice if you care to share. All the best. Dana... Link to comment
christophe_summers 0 Posted January 29, 2014 Dana, I'm very pleased you picked up on the diagonal as I tried to emphasise this with the use of motional blur. Regarding the cyan duotone effect, it seemed to give the whole thing a bit more lift, as opposed to just straight mono. I'm still unsure whether or not that was the right decision, but I suppose that's why we post our pics, for opinion. Many thanks for your comments, Chris Link to comment
