Thanks for taking the time to view, comment/critique, rate and, allowing

me the opportunity to share.

I thought about a way to remove the stump and the driftwood from the

frame but I also felt that removing them took some depth away from the

overall scene.

Would certainly like to hear your thoughts.

Thanks again,

Jim j.

Jim,  I am just a mere amateur, but for what it might be worth, I think I might have cropped it to a ratio of 6 x 4, rather than square, keeping all the elements in the photograph, (or maybe cropping off about the bottom 1/3 of the way you have it).  Nice shot!

Many thanks for your visits and encouraging comments!

I always feel blessed when I can post something that I think is fairly good and, each received comment is encouraging and provides some confirmation that I may be on the right track!

Mark,    Again, thanks for taking the time and your critique!

I understand what you're indicating about cropping some off the bottom. I chose not to mostly because of the Heron's shadow/reflection that is visible in the bottom of the frame.

As I indicated or asked . . . I also left the stump and limb to hopefully help show some "depth" to the overall scene. I did crop out more stumps, limbs & trash along a small visible part of the shoreline.

Having done a considerable amount of both Aviation photography and Birds in flight stuff, . . . I find that a photograph of an Aircraft or Bird with just the sky as the background somewhat boring and dosen't hold ones attention for very long. That's sort of what I was trying to stay away from here but don't know if I succeeded or not!
