I never had a Zenitar. Trying to upstage me, eh??

In this case, you seem to have caught ZenitInspiration. compelling. best, j

It's that single, sudden moment of realization that sets the neurons buzzing. I imagine you looked down, noticed this unusual effect and went off to fetch your camera. The result was more than worth the effort, Jeff. A noteworthy photo.

Jamie:  Well, if this kicks in your competitive streak, bring it on....  I'm having fun discovering these comparatively "cheap" vintage manual lenses (although I noticed you've dropped some coin on a few of yours).  Are there any stellar lenses I should consider?  Personally, I think if I were going to spend a lot of money on a manual focus lens, I'd get the Rokinon 35mm 1.4, although it wouldn't bring all the charming distortion that these older ones offer.

Jack:  I looked down and noticed that the glass kind of mirrored ripples in a pond.  And so I clicked a couple shots and got back to work.  I need to devote more time to getting out and taking more deliberate shots, but for now, these incidental snaps occasionally bring surprises.

Hi Jeff, I like this a lot. It reminds me of an old movie scene where an alcoholic looks down into his glass and sees a cryptic message and there after reclaims his life. Ok maybe my imagination went a little haywire, but I really like the image and its POV. Well seen. Take care.

Regards,

Holger

We discover some of the most interesting patterns and reflections right under our noses, and when we least expect it Jeff. I don't know how old the object is but it has a vintage feel to it. Sharp lens! enjoy that one, seems you are on the hunt for some 'golden oldies'!!

Much like Holger described it, yes... that sudden flash of clarity that lurks at the bottom, and the haze surrounding everything except that bottom.  This photo really tickles the imagination well.

Technically too; this image just has a lovely way it is rendered; nothing harsh, sharp without feeling pointy. Specific to older (vintage) lenses, maybe -  but then even so, it's a matter of knowing how to use it effectively, and if this isn't a showcase of that, what would be?

This is fabulous, Jeff! I am such a fan of just seeing a great shot spontaneously as we go through our day. Family and friends may think us odd, but that doesn't deter us!!!
