Thank you for your interest and kind words!

I was very fortunate with the sand, the other side of the little stream had been trampled, but no one had crossed that stream to the other side ( until I did)  so the sand patterns were intact!

A little voice in the crowd..:-). In my opinion the technical details count for only 20% ,if that, when judging a picture and it is the aesthetic result that really matters. The light is beautiful and it adds volumes to the mood of the picture. The first thing that strikes me are the wonderful sand patterns and then the eye follows the golden path of the water to the horizon. The sun is very wisely put behind the wreck. Thanks for sharing Alf. Well done my friend!.

Don't eat it, the sand really gets between your teeth! : -)

And no need to run away, F/22 isn't that scary once you get t know it  ha ha!

Many Thanks Jamie!

A little voice, but with resounding wisdom and advice that many people respect and take notice of!

The sun was still quite harsh and part of reason for getting the low perspective is as you have guessed, to ensure that the sun was behind the wreck.

My Sincere Thanks for taking the time to leave me with your analogy and kind words!

Take good care my friend!

Well once you mentioned how brave I was with my camera within a foot of the surf, now I must return the comment for getting within a couple of inches of the salty grime.  It is indeed a great perspective and a wonderful capture of the intricacies of natures sand sculpturing abilities.  I love live view, it is so helpful in areas we used to just have to make an educated "guess" and lots of exposure bracketing.  A very lovely picture Alf, it keeps your eyes busy and "entertained" for a while.  Best regards...

Yes, the grainy sand was a bit too close for comfort, but relatively stable compared to the surf that you encountered : - )

And yes, "Live View" is an excellent aid in these situations too.  I am surprised though that Nikon pro camera's don't offer the hinged LCD screen that seem to come as standard on a lot of less expensive cameras.

Glad you like this one Dave!

Sincere Thanks & Best Regards
