Mother Nature put on quite a show at Perdido Key during the coldest

day I can remember in a long time. I was numb, but it was worth it.

Comments/Critiques welcome.

Your excellent image caught my eye, first because it is of a spectacular sky and secondly because it is quite similar to a sky I seized here, way north of where you are.I attach so you can appreciate my amazement at the similarity.

Yes, Laurent. It seems you both share an excellent eye and talent, as well as similarly stunning images from your varied experience.

John, lucky you to witness such wonderful scenery, great contrasts, intense colors, just beautiful--interesting to see a similar, equally beautiful landscape from Laurent.

And these shots are years apart and at locations more than 4000km from each other.

It's absolutely breathtaking. The sky alone is stunning, and just the vivid reflection could be its own image. The synergy of the their combination: priceless!

Dear John,

You have framed this beautifully with the water leading us across the scene. Great detail, color...all very nice!

Great shot and I like the take it offers on the Earth contest theme - minimalist from a literal standpoint (barely any terra firma depicted and all of it dark), but very expressive of our terrestrial existence from an artistic viewpoint. You've got my vote, well done!

Hi Gang, Thanks for the comments.  Laurent, yes the sky color in your beautiful photo does look very similar.
