Congratulations on the POTD!

At first, I thought the image's tonality was a bit too heavy on the gray side,  and could use a bit more brightness or contrast, and then I reminded myself of the location at which you shot it.  It's perfect the way it is.  The darker tonality serves as a reminder about the horrors of prison.  (And I love the convergence.)

My best,

It certainly makes for an interesting abstract. I think the tones are very well done. I would be interested in seeing how the lighting was done as it seems to be the same for all rooms. I would assume it was from equal size windows on the walls.

Congratulations on Photo of the Day. I commend your skill in "seeing" this photo opportunity and framing it so well. I'm not a fan of the tonality though. With less gray, it becomes less flat and encourages the viewer to go beyond the first opening. As if we want to go to prison :)

Cheers ~

I was so disoriented in this section of hell that I was looking for something to ground me.  The symmetry of the doors gave it to me ... for a moment.

I agree that the photograph has issues (honestly not one of my best) but I wanted to convey the "convergence" (thank you, Michael) of chaos and order.

To James's point - because these were previously classrooms, the light is very well distributed throughout the rooms.  At the time of the Khmer Rouge, these rooms were converted to departmentalized cells.
