Very dramatic composition. 

Very well taken picture. Your choice of exposure turns an otherwise dull scene into a very dramatic view. 

The trees frame the picture very well but the sky is for me the key element of the picture.

B&W is a good choice. More of these would be welcome of course.

That big sky makes it for me in this nicely composed image.I like that you have selected a POV that highlights the groups of resistant trees in this meadow.I bet this is also excellent in color.Good work....and Happy New Year to you.

The dramatic sky with this clouds gives a sens for how powerful nature can be,after how this firs look it seems that is a very cold windy area,so all fit very well here and for viewer impact is very strong.

Excellent  winter scenery, of the North.  Clear up the left upper  corner, of the twig. The B&W is excellent for this image.
