Hi Alf, especatcular sunset highlighted by the wonderful golden colors. This image put me to dream and made me evoke moments that only nature captured in this way can do. Very well done Alf, thanks for sharing with us your wondeful work!!

Warmest regards,

LuDa

I was quite fortunate that the fronds of cloud formed whilst I was standing waiting for the sun to get lower. But whilst I was waiting the tide was coming in and the sand was starting to lose its patterns.  This photo was the best compromise.

Many Thanks Wolfgang!

Good to hear from you I hope you are keeping well!

It is most gratifying to read that this image was a dream like experience, it borders on the surreal, but mostly in a good way I think.

Sincere Thanks for your most encouraging feedback!

I'll go for this one.  I like the apparent work between the sky and the timbers.  The colors and light are wonderful

Besides, you don't have to get your knees wet this way..

Sincere Thanks!

It's always good to get your views!

Of course it's not really getting on my knees that is the problem, ........it's getting back up! : - )

I have to agree with your observations ref the relationship between the ribs of the vessel and the clouds, I like that too.  Maybe I'll try processing this one a tad differently, or one of the others I have.

Cheers Steve!

In this version, Alf, (and sorry for commenting in reverse chronological order) I like the complex dialogue between the fanning structures: one in the skies, one in the sand and in between the wooden columns.

Tibi summed it up for me when he stated: "I like the complex dialogue between the fanning structures: one in the skies, one in the sand and in between the wooden columns".

When you have a beautiful shot like this there is always a temptation to bring my personal tastes into the 'picture' and it was difficult to resist.  I adjusted the color balance (slightly less yellow based on the blue sky in the original) and dodged a bit of the foreground to emphasize that wonderful sand texture.  This is not a criticism of the beautiful original but mods based on my tastes and not knowing what the scene looked like.   I used PS color balance, the shadow/highlight command and a layer to dodge the foreground just a tad.

I am working on a project so my participation over the next three weeks will be limited.

Many Thanks for your thoughts relating to this one.

I too like that relationship between the ribs of the vessel and the streaks of the cloud.

It's a real shame that the sand patterns became more diminished as the cloud patterns formed, and I couldn't get them both at their best together.

Best Regards

TONY

Thank you for taking the time to make the adjustments and recording them so diligently,  and I do think they are for the better, and I appreciate your input!

Previous to you posting this, I went back to the processing history and found I had moved the "hue" slider in the yellow tones in Adobe Lightroom, and I think that is where I went wrong.  The adjustments I then made rendered a result very much like the one you have produced here.

Thank you again Tony!

Sincere Thanks!

I might have overdone the warm tones, but it seemed a good idea at the time. : - )

Many Thanks for your interest and thoughtful feedback, much appreciated. Like so many of my images I find myself not liking them after a while, but it's good to know that others still do : - )
