Hi Nicole,

I think you have done a nice job here...great light and tonal balances. Perhaps check the pillow right next to the model's head...here it seems blown out, but it may not be in the original.

Nice work!

Thanks very much! I double checked the original and it's good, still has detail and everything and the histogram looks good.
Do you think the composition loses anything but allowing the bottom of the frame to crop the hand?

Thanks again!

Hi Nicole,

I did not even notice the hand being cropped, so clearly it was not a problem for me! It almost fades into the shadow, so it does not seem like a distraction.

Hi Nicole,

Lights are well used. It's create a very intimate ambiance. For me also, there is no problem with the hand, because you made the same choice with the right side of the trousers.

Benoit.

I don't think the hand is a problem for the reasons people have given. It subtly gets lost in the shadows and I don't really miss it. That being said, I think its inclusion would have added. So it's not a negative, but a missed positive, if that makes any sense. Beautiful lighting. I think the pillow, blown or not, is a little strong for the type of shot it is and for what you're presenting. I'm getting handsomeness and hard body and would be interested to see a variety of expressions from him and a bit less posturing. Perhaps some suggestion of movement or of being in the midst of something.
