Hi Patrick,

There is much to enjoy in this! Two items that really make it distinctive are the colors (not what one would expect..the purple sky especially), and the wonderful clarity of texture in the mid-ground ice. This is a great scene and nicely presented!

Hi Timothy, thanks. I pulled the sky toward blue (minus yellow) which enhanced it's color the way you noted. On one monitor it resembles what I saw, on another it looks purple! But in any case I do like the triptych of pastels and the opposition (color wise) of the BG sky and FG water. Thanks for the comments!

Hi Patrick...tryptich of pastels!! Yes,  I wish I would have thought of that phrase. That is exactly what I love about this photo.

Patrick,   This image must be viewed large in order to appreciate the detail and sharpness in the ice.  Exccellent capture - you have used light and color exceptionall well. Perhaps the most important "cut" of all is that fact that you have experienced and memorialized Greenland.  Was this a cruise?   Best to you for the holidays and New Year.  Larry

Hi Larry, the only part of Greenland I explored up close was Illulisat on the west coast, and some of the surrounding waters. We flew over from Reykjavik a few years back when I still had only one kid! I will post more from Greenland, thanks for commenting.

Incredible scenery and colors. If only there were something to give it scale. As is, the simplicity gives it an abstract appeal. Cheers, -Clayton

Exceptional image by any standard!  I really like the fine detail in the marbled like ice formations, the cold stillness, the clarity and colours.

Sincere Compliments!

Spectacular shot. I agree with Patrick. The colors in this are what caused me to enlarge it. Very nice, beautiful abstract art image.

Beautiful image! You've made something awe-inspiring and much bigger than life into something visually poetic. I love the muted colors while you retained the natural beauty of the glacier. Great work.

Superb image, really amazing ice structures and the cool colours are surreal. I think you should definitely put this one for the Earth contest, this is just magnificent
