A most unsettling image, superbly rendered. Very odd-looking, somehow misplaced, but accomplishing the sense of bafflement with superb technical elements. BW is just perfect, as is the composition. Congratulations.

The minimalism and isolation create a vaguely unsettling tension between a sense of peaceful solitude and an ominous sense of alienation.

Nitpicking... I see a couple of barely discernible sensor dust specks, one just a bit above the left corner of the platform, another a bit higher above the ladder.  These are visible only in the larger view on my monitor.  Also, an unfortunate consequence of web sized JPEGs, there's an odd bit of posterizing with a bit of rosy banding between the grays.  I often encounter the same problem with my own web sized JPEGs of photos with subtle continuous tones - it's frustrating, trying to get smooth continuous tones for online display with subtly toned monochrome photos.

Minor nits, though.  This photo works very well as-is.
