Hint: the contours of the mountains will tell you. You can compare the mountains to other DV dunes shots, that should help eliminate which dunes they are not! Use a topo for a definite answer! What I mean by a definite answer is, it won't be a guess, you will know with out a doubt!!  Have fun.... (Do not spoil this Randy W.)

Hi Steven

Nice landscape composition. Nice colors and textures (sand and rock). Good sharpness and adequate brightness. Good work!! Congratulations. Roldao

Beautiful light and color. Perfect time to take this beautiful picture. What does it represent?

We have several choices hear -Mesquite Flat Dunes, Eureka Dunes, Saline Valley Dunes, Panamint Dunes and Ibex Dunes.

First two are not remote and mountains are not as close. Based on the shape of the mountains I would place my bet on Panamint Dunes. I wonder if I am correct?

Andrew, you may be right but a quick look at topography map would help you know for certain.  And there are more dunes in the park besides the ones you have mentioned.

Great capture in good light of stark desert scenery. I agree with Andrew Johnston. The view of the moon has to be looking either east or west. It's a bit hard to tell in this light, but these look like the Last Chance Mountains. So, it must be looking east toward Last Chance Mountains. Cheers, -Clayton

Early twilight. What a great time of day for the sidelight to bring out all these shadows, which in turn bring out all the rich textures. The triangular dune in the foreground leads the eye straight to the subject. It's not oversaturated and appears to be pretty much a straight shot. Very refreshing today. This would be a 7 all the way

There's gold in them thar hills.  The color hues, especially the blue and gold, are vivid beyond belief.  Your capture of the detail and texture is spot on.  And I have no idea where these dunes are located!
