To me, this doesn't convey loneliness as much as intended solitariness.  I put my thumb over the bright white house and the picture has a little bit different feel to it.  Less of a communion/connection of spirit to shore and more of an adrift feel.

Alf, this is most artistic. The swan is placed perfectly in the picture, and you made the very best of the difficult weather situation by indirectly using the fog to give further focus on your main subject. Absolutely impressive work!

Thanks for sharing,

Alex

It's all a bit of a con really as the swans mate was just out of camera shot to the left.  I couldn't get them to "pose" for the camera and consequently one or  other of them seemed to have it's bottom in the air at any given moment with it's head submerged.  I did manage to get the both of them in eventually, but they were some distance apart. (I'll post that shot at a later date)

Interesting observation about the house, I tried it after reading your comments and yes!  It certainly does change the mood.

Sincere Thanks for your thoughts and feedback!

Ahh yes it's that mist again that conveys the dream like quality. It's most gratifying to read that you like it!

Thank You!

Many Thanks, the larger view is better optimised for sharpness and detail, I'm very pleased you liked it.

I kind of like the "impressionist artist" effect of the background when there is thick mist and fog. Sometimes the least idyllic weather is somehow ideal.

Glad you like this one Alex, and thank you so much for your thoughts and positive feedback!

Best Regards

So beautiful Alf!! Sorry I am so late dropping by. I love the posture of the Swan, combined with the ripples in the water, makes for such a lovely capture. You certainly had great timing, first the Rowboat, now the Swan. The scene would be lovely without it, but is so much more beautiful with the Swan. Ahh one day I will stop playing with my 'paintbox' and get some decent images like this!!

Cheers to you dear Alf for a very blessed Christmas! ooohhh FREEZING RAIN and SNOWING and so COLD right now. Weather Warnings 'et all'. They are telling us not to leave home without our......... SKATES ON !!!! :)Gail

Thank You so much for your most heart warming comments and positive feedback!

Swans always give the appearance of being such graceful creatures, they seem to glide effortlessly through the water with a regal air of authority that bewitches the viewer and makes for mesmerising and almost compulsive viewing.  The mist acts like the curtains behind the scene diffusing the light and allowing the star of the show to shine.

Send that snow over here Gail, I need some winter scenes to capture!

Have a very safe and Merry Christmas Gail and a peaceful and prosperous New Year!
