the concept of the non-desaturated eyes is not new, but this is one of the best examples i recall...

...except for the blue eye, which overwhelms the rest of the image. This may have been the effect that you wanted, but I feel that it actually detracts from an otherwise fantastic photo.

I'm gonna have to disagree with the above comment... i think the eye looks great and is well suited for the photo. My brain tells me that the eye should be in the center of the photo... i think it might be easier on my eye.. not to sure though... i really like this one...!!!

A very good use of color with BW. I love this picture.

I think this would be much better as a black and white image without the color in the eye. Leaving a small part of a picture in color has become trite with digital manipulation.

Most people take mediocre images of their children and end up with something thats special to them but uninteresting to others. This, however, is an excellent portrait. That daughter of yours is quite photogenic.

Great shot Nina, I like it as it is but it would also work in B+W & full Colour too!

The blue eye needs a bit of desaturation. I visited the photo because of the expression and composition. The eye is already the center of attention without being colored. It's a nice shot.
