krpradu 125 Posted November 16, 2013 I don't say something about bw-color,details or other things, what I feel it from the first time is exactly what title you did says.Wasp is a interesting insect that when time become to be cold after summer still to see if there is something interesting in a deep corner and this juxtaposition of black composition and vivid insect is a good characteristic of it.sincerely radu Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 285 Posted November 16, 2013 Welcome, Radu! Thank you for your thorough observation of this picture! PDE Link to comment
chris_panagiotidis 0 Posted November 16, 2013 I don't think this wasp had a successful pollen harvesting, lol! Terrific composition ,as always. The painterly quality of the flowers rendering is the key point here, deserving the study title. The selective coloring of the wasp , though it seems an obvious choice, is what gives to this creation of yours the special character one is spoiled to expect from you. And you didn't fail to meet this challenge here too. Just wonderful, Petraki! Chapeau! Link to comment
alfbailey 3 Posted November 16, 2013 Such mystery's you weave with your creativity. A rich myriad of mind blowing visuals to entice and provoke the senses. I see a 3D wasp in a world devoid of nourishment, a symbol of our times, or maybe warning of things to come! Sincere Compliments! Alf Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted November 16, 2013 You seem to have discovered a new and sensitive side of yourself. There is delicacy and enchantment in these shots which contrasts nicely with your usual forceful and very masculine approach Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 285 Posted November 16, 2013 Hristaki, if I wanted I couldn't say that you just said! I don't even understand your complex English! But, I understood that you said "wonderful" and that's enough to tell me that I haven't disappointed you, not even with a wasp as replacement for a real bee!Thank you very much for your encouraging comment! Pierre Dumas 285 Posted November 16, 2013 Very well said, Alf! Thank you for the compliments for the picture and for myself as an author! Maybe you are very, very close to the goal of this picture! PDE Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 285 Posted November 16, 2013 Jack, very discerning comment! Thank you especially for your praise of my masculine and forceful approach in my other works! PDE Link to comment
AJBart 9 Posted November 17, 2013 "3D or not 3D" that is the question!! Very interesting Pierre. AJ Link to comment
panayotis_papadopoulos 0 Posted November 17, 2013 I wish we never see that day coming...where a wasp is trying desperately to find something to keep her going...are the bees vanished? Then life is in jeopardy...unless the wasp is trying something unforeseen here. Trying to give life back by transfusing liquid, juice to the dehydrated flower. But is she going to survive afterwards? Only our story teller Pierre can answer that, maybe with part two...have a wonderful day Pierre! Cheers! Link to comment
maria 7 Posted November 17, 2013 very interesting composition of black and white and colour Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 285 Posted November 17, 2013 There are three flowers with dimensions, plus wasp who also has dimensions, so it would be (if we don't count the depth, the distance to the mutual background) 4D!If we count the depth 5D and I vote for that!Question answered AJ?Thank you for your at first glance "Hamletic" comment my friend! Pierre Dumas 285 Posted November 17, 2013 Panayotis, I like your comment very much! The answer may come in some future picture, maybe it's hidden in some or more of the previous, but "the story teller" won't answer it with words!A man may be visual artist, painter for example and in the same time engaged in literature! But, his literature can't consist of his explanations of the meaning of his paintings!I think you, for example showed that it's up to the viewer to do it! Thank you very much for your discerning critique PDE Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 285 Posted November 17, 2013 Maria, I once in some comment said: "I generally don't accept mixing of BW photos with colored parts, but in this case I approve it (aesthetically, of course) because the yellow and the black go very well together!"Thank you for your visit and your comment! color 3 Posted November 18, 2013 Good work Pierre. I like it. The wasp, which doesn't like flowers so much, trying to draw food from paper flowers. I guess some people would find it very symbolic somehow, but for me, it is art, good art. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 285 Posted November 19, 2013 Chuck, your comment is most valuable, IE since we all saw those flowers, especially me as dried flowers I never thought they might be seen as paper flowers which leads to a bit different aspect of this picture! Thanks Chuck! PDE Link to comment
donev1 717 Posted November 19, 2013 Original and interesting, Pierre! I like the way you did the light. I see here irony, or I am wrong - it is very difficult to follow your imagination. Thanks for your attention. BR Link to comment
