This was created by combining 14 fisheye images to get a wider view of

this tiny space, which also allowed me to remove a number of wandering

tourists who were cluttering up the place! I'm not completely happy

with the amount of distortion in the bottom corners (an unavoidable

side-effect of using a cylindrical projection to keep the vertical

surfaces straight), but otherwise I'm quite happy with the result.

Please let me know if you'd have approached things differently or

anything you think works well.

Thanks for looking, best wishes, Mark

I don't even know how to blend images, so I'm really impressed by the technical details you've described.  It's a fantastic and symmetrical end result.  The light shining on the operating table is particularly appropriate.....the 'main stage', so to speak.  I've been in a couple of medical history museums, and I find them fascinating places to visit.

Sergio, Peter, Karl and Su; thanks for your comments!

Christal, it's not that difficult in terms of processing; most of the effort is in the taking of the photographs; I rarely have access to a panoramic head and tripod, so it was important to fix exposure and not move between shots. There are a few seams where things don't quite line up, but they're mostly hidden in low contrast areas like the walls. Most of the difficult technical aspects are handled by PTGui, the software I use.

It is an impressive museum; rather small but worth a visit if you are ever in London. I'm from a medical background myself and used to work in operating theatres so it has some extra connection for me.

Thanks so much everyone for stopping by. Best wishes, Mark

David, Maurizio, Jim, Wayne and Michael;

Thanks so much for stopping by, I'm glad you like the photo; my corner of photo.net feels a little quiet sometimes so your comments are always welcome. I'm quite pleased with this approach myself, I really need to get out and do more of these; suitable interiors are everywhere, it's just balancing work with this fun stuff!

Best wishes, Mark

The composition is so engaging. There is a feeling of the expressionistic painting in this in that your black and white really invokes an atmosphere of pioneering work.

I love the composition of this photo! On the right side there is information tag, I would remove that, but thats minor. Very powerful and grabbing photo! Nice work! 7/7

Best regards,

ML

Starvy, Barbara and Michal, many thanks for the comments.

Michal; do you mean the tag on the left side of the photo? You may be right; I've removed people from the photo, so perhaps that sign could be justifiably removed also; it had not bothered me before now.

Best wishes and a happy New Year,

   Mark
