Many Thanks for your thoughts and positive feedback.

The lighting was a bit difficult, but the camera seemed to handle it fairly well, and still managed to retain some decent detail. Not as much detail in the sky as I would have liked though.

The Isle of Anglesey is nearly always windy as it is very flat, and particularly when standing on a headland like this.

The PP was done with NIK Silver Efex Pro- 2, it has some very nice features that tend to accentuate detail.

Sincere Thanks & Best Regards

I am so pleased you picked up on the mood of this image, it is those very thoughts I had in mind when I chose the title.

Sincere Thanks and Best Regards

The D800 does seem to have a great capacity for capturing detail.

Sincere Thanks & Best Regards from Merseyside!

There is just something about these ponies that I find a bit 'magical' Alf. The fact that they are 'wild' may be part of it. But their appearance is so unusual. I like this composition. The coloring seems very fitting.

Well done Alf!

"Magical" is a most appropriate word to describe these ponies, and indeed the location itself. As the history of Llandwynne Island describes it exactly the same!

It is a place steeped in history that goes back to the 5th Century AD

Alf,

I find the comments which make a human connection to this image very interesting.  Perhaps that is what makes this such a strong image, we are able to connect with the subject and see something of ourselves in the pony.

I think you are right, the melancholy kind of emotion that the image seesm to convey is something most of us can relate to at some time or other in our lives.

Thank you for your thoughtful observations and positive feedback Jim.

The treatment fits the image and the great detail fills the frame well. The horse seems to evoke a wistful look to the distant future on the horizon. As evident to all the comments the image has been well received and rightly so. Thanks for your recent comment, rek.

"Wistful" would have been a good alternative title as it sums up the mood so well.

Sincere Thanks for your interest and thoughtful feedback!
