This image must be viewed larger. The neighboring peals that flank Crater

Lake hvave interesting pointed profiles. The foreground cliff detail from

Crater Lake brought these neighboring Cascades together for me. Thanks

for your critiques and comments. Larry

Larry - this is a very fine image. I like your foreground which is bright and contrasty and I like the distant vista. This provides perceptual depth - 3D on a 2D medium. The clouds are nicely detailed but not enough to make me think that it was unnatural.

Initially I was thinking that some black areas were void of details but when I viewed this larger I can see that is not the case.

Well done!

Tony,  Thanks for your remarks and views.  We often need to hear the comments of others to differentiate between our images that are just OK and those that are really effective.  You helped me to do this, and I clicked off your comment as helpful.  Also, I just posted another pano of Crater Lake, fixing the problems you identified in your earlier comments.  You may want to take a look.  Thanks, again.  Larry

Wanghan,   Thanks for your quick input on this image as well.  Grandeur is a good word to describe this land.  Still, many would miss surrounding landscapes such as this as just "stuff in the background."  Photography is all about seeing and communicating the vision we perceive.  Then, viewers help us to confirm whether we achieved our goals.  Best to you, Wangan.  Larry
