I deleted the request by mistake... I still want to know what you

think about the cropping ? Is it to much space at the right ??

This is really a great capture! You really seem to be having fun with your photo's. Very nice. Space on the right is just going to have to stay there. Unless you want it to look like a panoramic. I'd keep it. The shot capture's the eye. I'm not finding my attention being distracted at all.

hey kristian, you have some very strong photos in your folders. this one too has action, tension, interaction... as do many of your others. the look between insects (if that is what's going on) tells a whole story. As a biologist, however, i see a different one than you do. I don't know this fly, but there are many that parasitise insects such as grasshoppers. This fly seems way to big to be a parasite (the more common phorids are quite small) but .. that's what i see at first glance. the tight crop, the hovering action, the tilt of the head, the clarity of such a shot... i know how hard this shot was to get. you have done very well!! the background is perfect in that it conveys location (nature) without detracting in the least. thanks kristian, pete

Allan :) Tackar tackar ;)

T. C. :) Photoing is (almost) always fun ,thats the main reason that I spent that much time seaking for the perfect shot ;)

peter :) Thanx... I really don´t know what to say after a comment like yours.. I start With a bit Thanx end end there because your comment is to me better than the picture, at least for me personally ;) I don´t know the name of the small flying object but im quite sure that it's not a parasite... I will try to figure out in some dictionary (with pictures) what the English name is ...

Brennan :) Thanx Im speachless ;)

Besides one or two shots by Mark Plonsky, I think I haven't rated any macro shot a 7/7 on this site. This strikes me as one of the very best shots I've seen in this genre. Not only did you capture the "little" guy at the back with a perfect motion blur on the wings, while retaining details in the foreground as well, but you even managed to achieve what seems to be an absolutely perfect composition, and the colors are absolutely stunning as well. What else to ask for ? A truly fabulous picture imo, well worth a macro book cover. Sincere congratualtions.

Kristian,

Wonderful shot. I really enjoy the background separation and blur; great job managing DOF. The amount of space on the right side of the image is fine - it helps make this shot something other than a simple 'pic of a grasshopper.'

Actually, the photo puts me in mind of the old King Kong genre of monster movies; the large monster climbing a building with small planes zooming in to fend off the attacker.

I like it.
