adrian_klein 0 Posted September 8, 2013 This image was taken while on a early morning hike at Mount Saint Helens at sunrise in early summer. This time of year can be a wildflower treat with Indian paintbrush and penstemon carpeting the ground. Thanks in advance for any feedback and comments. Link to comment
greg mccracken 13 Posted September 9, 2013 This is my favourite style of photo! You have done an impeccable job in rendering it. Nice placement of the foreground stump. Nice sky crop due to lack of clouds. Centre placement of the peak is the right decision. Excellent tonal control throughout It would be good to know what the date shot was taken to allow other photographers to learn when the flowers are in such good shape. I have many potentially lovely shots where the foreground flowers were just too far past prime. Link to comment

stp 6 Posted September 11, 2013 I heard the blast in Seattle, and my father heard it on the other side of the state in Richland. Yet some people very close to the mountain didn't hear it at all -- the sound wave went right over them. Initially, I thought it was a sonic boom from a passing jet, but there was no follow-up of jet engine noise. Link to comment
virginia_john_mybusiness 0 Posted September 11, 2013 I was over in the tri-cities and drove back to Seattle through the gorge. I was the last car up I-5 before they closed the bridge. I remember it being dark at noon in tri-cities. The purple lightening in the ash cloud was spectacular. Link to comment
