This composition is beautiful William. These poppies always remind me of our 'fallen soldiers'. The main Highway along Lake Ontario is called the '401'. It is originally 'The King's Highway' but in 2007 from Trenton, Ontario(soldiers bodies are returned home to the Air Force Base Trenton-just miles away from the 401) going West to Toronto, the Highway in this section was renamed the 'Highway of Heroes'. The Highway signs have Red Poppies on them. Whenever a soldier's body was travelling from Trenton to Toronto (coroners office) the bridges over the Highway would be crowded with hundreds of people waving Canadian Flags and banners with Red Poppies on them. Beautiful and glorious, this poppy faces the warmth of the sun!

Lovely image William, and very 'touching' for me.

Warmest regards, Gail
