It's amazing how fragile and intricate we all are--- dragonfly included.  You've really captured that.  And the blue with turquoise -- well, nice color scheme

I love the part of the gossamer wings that fall into the shallow dof and become a myriad of inter-connecting fine lines and veins, such delicate workmanship that only nature could create.

Wonderful Macro Gail!

Thank you Alf for your visit and for your encouraging words. The wings are so pretty. When you consider the strength these insects must have to fly round the way they do, it is really quite remarkable. I love that word 'gossamer' ....almost has a 'mystical' or 'magical' FEEL to it.

I have always loved Turquoise (especially in clothing and jewellery). The colours on the Dragonfly reminded me of Jewels, it's body with almost an enamel sheen. While they are delicate, they are very ferocious eaters I have heard. Glad they don't like 'us'!!!

thank you Mike, your many 'tutorials' are paying off. I never had to check my settings, the 100 Macro is always set to f2.8. Many may question it, but I find I get my best results at that setting, especially for Macro Insects. Thanks for the good mark..hope I can keep it up!

Thank you Luisa. This was just a quick shot, so perhaps knowing I did not have much time with the Gazebo Canvas Walls blowing in on me, and also making the rope that the Dragonfly was haning on to move as well, I just tried to 'get the shot'. I was amazed to see that I took it at 1/50 sec hand held. This is where if I'd been thinking faster, I could have probably set the ISO higher and gotten a faster shutter speed. Fortunately I did get this capture!!!

Jorge, many thanks for your visit and encouraging words of critique. So good to hear from you. I hope the heat in Miami hasn't been to much to 'take' this summer!!! ;-) Gail

Many thanks for your visit and critique. I knew you'd appreciate this one after all the images you take of Dragons and Damsels. I don't see many of them around our home.

Sincere thanks Sadegh for dropping by and for that 'lovely compliment'. Any visit from you is always a 'treat', but your appreciation of any of my images is INSPIRING!!!

Sincere thanks, Gail
