Wayne Sadler 633 Posted August 2, 2013 Whenever I have visited the Outer Banks of North Carolina, my first stop has been the Bodie Island Lighthouse. Built in 1872, I understand this is actually the third lighthouse built in this area of Bodie Island. The one before this one stood on Pea Island in an area now under water. I always create a few images of this lighthouse and support buildings hoping for cooperative skies and for the rare opportunity of an image without tourists in it. Comments and critique welcome. hstelljes 41 Posted August 2, 2013 Hi Wayne, I'm a big lighthouse fan and this is a beauty, and your capture of it is excellent. I like the perspective and the BG sky is perfect IMHO. Really very nice shot Wayne.BR,Holger Link to comment
Wayne Sadler 633 Posted August 2, 2013 Thanks, Holger. I greatly appreciate kind comments from someone like you who knows well how to image these structures - deciding vertical, how much sky and land to include and how to balance the "weight" of the lighthouse in the composition. (I think I might have been gaining skills in this area from you and others on PN for some time now.) Link to comment
john_nell 610 Posted August 2, 2013 Nice composition Wayne. The banded lighthouse stands on its own & the clouds add more interest. John Link to comment
