dave_k1 0 Posted March 16, 2004 This was taken about an hours drive east of Perry, Florida.. on the panhandle. The Gulf of Mexico is just beyond the grass and tree line. Quote Link to comment
alan_lapp 0 Posted March 16, 2004 Pleasant composition, very nice color. How did you preserve the rich green color of the grass when shooting into the sunset? Was this a particularly long exposure? Quote Link to comment
dave_k1 0 Posted March 16, 2004 I used a Singh-Ray Galen Rowell ND Grad 2Stop Soft filter to preserve detail in the forground. Exposure time was 1/8 sec. Thanks for the comments. Quote Link to comment

kslonaker 0 Posted March 17, 2004 You did great keeping the detail in the foreground. Not an easy thing to do. The rich yellow and green contrast nicely and make this a pleasing image. Quote Link to comment
1000wordsphotography 0 Posted March 17, 2004 Very professional and wonderfully artistic photo. It has it all: color, detail, drama, great line and best of all light. Quote Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted March 17, 2004 A tremendous sensitivity and feel for photographing natural things rings true in this photo, even especially with the civ hints in the background! Quote Link to comment
cristina_fumi 0 Posted March 17, 2004 an amazing beautiful shot with great colours. Quote Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted March 17, 2004 What are you doing in Florida, Dave? :-) Couldn't hack the Alaskan winter? LOL!! (I wouldn't be able to, myself!) This is absolutely gorgeous. You seem to find wonderful shots wherever you go!! Quote Link to comment
httppedrojmatos.home.sa 0 Posted March 17, 2004 One of best landscapes ever! Very good detail of the grass, which contrasts with the rest. Quote Link to comment
lkv 0 Posted March 17, 2004 A simple picture, but with a perfect execution ! Bravo, I like it very much. The colors are perfect. Quote Link to comment

robert goldstein 0 Posted March 17, 2004 One of the few photographs that actually deserves that appellation. It is absolutely gorgeous from top to bottom, front to back. Quote Link to comment
richard van hoesel 0 Posted March 17, 2004 An ominous and unusual colour palette Dave; very nice indeed. I wonder if some additional burning-in or colour adjustment is worth experimenting with in the lower quarter of the image - to me the light there looks a bit unnaturally white as if a fill flash was used. davidroossien 0 Posted March 17, 2004 I like the soft effect (in many of your photos). In this one I especially like the way the grass in the left corner fans out and points in the direction of the water. The water takes it from there joining bottom and top. Quote Link to comment
gary evans 0 Posted March 18, 2004 Fabulous colors! Nice composition and DoF. Sharp, but soft... Quote Link to comment
hanna_cowpe 0 Posted March 18, 2004 It always annoys me when I'm blown away by an image, and then someone points out something I didn't notice, and that would be the light in the foreground. Well, whether it's fill flash, or fairy lights, it's still a beautiful shot. And the grass definitely looks greener on your side. Quote Link to comment
