Melancholy for sure

The rose's leaves seem done because of the sepia.  The rose, taken from the back shows age much like a combover men wear hiding their baldness.  It seems taken in a muddy sky, but there are no dew droplets of relief and softness.  It is what it is though you made it this way -- meditative really

One can be most certain that in this world tonight, there are many

that are WAITING. Yes, just waiting for a few words from a loved

one; a few words from a home they left so many years ago; words

that would soothe a broken heart; words that would calm an anxious

mind; or just words, because someone is so lonely to hear that

someone actually cares. In this high tech society, not everyone

Emails, Texts, Tweets etc. Sometimes, the written word,

unexpectedly received can change the course of someone's day, or

their future. Sometimes, it can make all the difference just to see that

special person's handwriting, and hold that message close to your

heart. (comments and visits are always welcome, thanks in advance,

This rose was in the corner of my favorite Garden Centre, showing the signs of too much sun, not enough water and probably by the next day, all the petals would have fallen. It looked so lonely. Funny how one can be drawn to the way a flower appears and seem to understand it's plight. I think quite often I have felt that way, tired and lonely and anxious to hear a voice or read some uplifting news. I think we all experience this at one time or another. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me Donna, I do appreciate it very much.

Hi Gail,

This parchment look is quite effective in telling many stories.

A wonderful presentation well composed.

Warmest Regards, Mike

Hi Gail. This is a powerful image. You created a real feeling of being alone and worn. The single rose after prime time, its placement, and the texture are perfect. Even the darkened edges convey the theme. The real kicker is the old style almost obscure words Post Card. This is a real pleasure to look at and analyze. Very well done!!

I am a member of a local camera club and we are always looking for strong images to illustrate techniques. Would you allow me to take this image and your introduction to a meeting to discuss it? The image would only be projected onto a screen and would not be printed in any way. Thanks for your consideration. Happy shooting.

Gail - when you hot, you hot! These latest images are beautifully accomplished, I think your impelling vision and the finished photo are probably pretty close. It's an exceptional union of idea and technique. You seem to have found a crack in the cosmos where images float freely, unbound to any particular place or time. As an example of your art, this one goes into my favorites.

A postcard from the past - ephemeral and eternal. Fantastic work you did on background textures, and I especially like that negative space on the right side.

This is a beautiful image. I guess part of the purpose of Photo.net is to be able to get feedback on how an image might be improved. Well, I have no suggestions here. This a excellent.
