I love the dichotomy between the foreground and misted areas.  Of course the mist is everywhere but the area viewed is so equisitely just right.  The grasses in the foreground are so detailed and sharp.  The stile gives the sense that there is more magic around the corner.  The fact that the steps are not wholly covered in moss conveys that they are used, at least, fairly frequently.

A stunning image from the master ?

Warm regards

Jim

So very good to hear from you, I do hope you are keeping well!

The stile is used fairly regularly by the fishermen that frequent the lake, and of course one or two photographers : - )

It is an interesting place to take a walk, but the ground is always sodden and waterproof footwear is essential.  On this occasion the mist appeared and within seconds I couldn't even see the path from which I had travelled to get at this spot.

Glad you liked this one Jim.

Sincere Thanks & Best Regards

Hi Alf- A wonderful mixture , combining a flat foggy shoreline with the well lit old ladder & grasses creating a visual pleasure. My view fastened on the ladder & recalling our hiking days in England & combined with the fog rekindled many pleasant memories. Covering up the ladder & the image instantly changes to a flat landscape. It's amazing how the brightness of the ladder brings the image to life & a skilful photographer like yourself recognized the importance of the ladder.A very relaxing & peaceful scene well captured. As friend to friend your advice to sidestep to Nikon, well, can hear my dear mother yelling down from Heaven,"Wash his mouth out with soap" Nothing wrong with the 6D, only the info being supplied & causing the data error messages. However , a friend has fed me a solution,"Do not save the image with, "Save",Save As", but with,"Save For The Web". Bingo!!, now I can upload my images to Photo.Net. It's nice to have these computer experts around occasionally. So everything is hunky, dory until they solve my 6D problems. Will close for now but expect to view this image many times.Very Best Regards-Ross

These old stiles have a great deal of character and I found it interesting to note your reaction to the image once it was covered up.

I guess the Nikon V Canon debate can go on as long as the ones involving opposing football teams, but as you indicated, family values have a strong influence : - )

Glad to hear you have now sorted out the upload problem.

Many Thanks for visiting this one, I am getting quite addicted to misty scenes myself!

All the very best!
