mike vellucci 0 Posted August 17, 2003 While the composition of the photograph is not overly complicated, this adds to the overall abstract quality of the photo. The contrast between the green and the red hues really pushes this further than a clear glass of water would have done. Link to comment
jon_fernquest 0 Posted August 17, 2003 I really envy you. I don't how accidental this was, but it sure is beautiful. Love the colors, the hues, and the soft gradual gradations of color. (The raw wood of the table appears to play some role in this.) The simplicity of the lines and curves make a wonderful composition. The glass and the blast of light through the glass make a wonderful center of focus. Link to comment
anne getzieh 0 Posted August 17, 2003 great colors and lines! i love that play with light and the simplicity of this pic very much. i would have cropped it, so that the lower edge of the glas comes just out of the right corner below. but imho it`s a great pic, just as it is! :) regards, anne Link to comment
amanda mumma 0 Posted August 17, 2003 what a simple but beautiful pic. I love the play of the light on the table and I think the crop is just right. Link to comment
carolyn_weikkola 0 Posted August 18, 2003 First, let me says thanks for taking the time to rate some of my photos, much appreciated:) Second...I think you have great eye for the abstract and simple. I have attempted to take such photos as these and have failed miserably. excellent use of color and light. I also enjoyed your architectural pics as well...(you just need a tripod:) trust me it was the best thing I bought, took me a while to get in the habit of using it, but now I don't shoot without it!) Good work! Link to comment
ciofalo 0 Posted September 21, 2003 Very pleasant effect. The light figure on the table realy makes this shot. Incidentally, the light figures formed by reflection or refraction from curved surfaces are called caustics, and they are exactly described by an elegant branch of mathematics called catastrophe theory. Sooner or later, I must find the time to investigate them from a photographic point of view - they seem quite promising as abstract subjects. Link to comment
