snigam 0 Posted July 6, 2013 Photographed in Toronto during August 21, 2011 storm, these clouds looked vicious. There were tornado touch downs in city outskirts. Rain and lightening strikes hit the city for about three hours. There was one fatality. This is 70mm shot from distance of about 5km. The buildings are downtown high rises but they look puny compared to the monster clouds. See the other photo also in the same folder. Comments and rating welcome. Link to comment
hoosier 0 Posted July 7, 2013 This image should be used in the definition of "awesome", a word that has all but lost its meaning due to overuse. Now, I can use it appropriately. This photo is awesome! Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted July 7, 2013 I recall those storms Sandeep. While I live in Peterborough, we sometimes get the edges of your storms, or worse. I recall this day on the 'news'. Your image brings back the memories so vividly. Such 'turmoil' in these vicious clouds. Well done, the processing brings out the magnitude of such weather. Link to comment
snigam 0 Posted July 8, 2013 Joao, thanks for kind words. Gail, this was an epic storm that has not been surpassed in last two years. Many lucky things have to fall in place for this type of photo. Along with interesting cloud formations, it has to be a clear day to get distant shots. Mist or rain reduces visibility, which is what we mostly get in stormy conditions. Now a days when I hear about a storm, I recharge the camera batteries, just in case...Best wishes... Sandeep Link to comment
