mpitak 0 Posted June 30, 2013 Dalyan River and beautiful Lycian tombs cut from rock, circa 400 BC. South-west coast of Turkey. I took this picture back in 2011. All critiques are welcome. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted July 2, 2013 You can "see" far more than I, because I have no idea that there are tombs here. I see a piece of land with water and what are probably large, multi-passenger boats. That's all (except, of course, for a cloudy sky). For an area that you know, I'll bet the pano crop works very well, and I know it brings back memories of your experience there. Link to comment
mpitak 0 Posted July 3, 2013 Thank you for your comment.I agree, probably the picture caption is a bit unfortunate since the tombs are not the main subject on this photo. However, I am still quite surprised, that apart of all things you listed you couldn't find tombs which are cut in rock and take a significant and central part of this mount. In my opinion their location is pretty obvious - especially when picture is enlarged, but of course I might be wrong. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted July 3, 2013 I should have tried the enlarged view, because you're right -- they are much more obvious in that view. I may not know from looking that they are tombs, but human-built structures, and interesting ones at that, are much more obvious. Link to comment
