A Spectacular sunset at the famous valley containing the World

heritage site of the Meteora Monasteries.A very difficult exposure

with a 4 stop difference between the sun and the valley.A two stop

soft edge grad was used at the top and an extra shot overexposed by

another 2 stops for the bottom part both blended to create this

image, thanks for the comments and ratings

It seems your efforts were well worth it harry. While the Meteora's are very popular to photograph, I imagine with the surrounding mountains and ever changing light, no two images would ever appear the same. But here you have succeeded in bringing to us quite a beautiful image. Lovely work.

Sincere regards, Gail

A challenging prospect to say the least. But you found a way round it and with great success. An image worthy of the amazing scenery. 7

Sincere Compliments!

Harry,

I believe that the way you exposed the scene was the best way to do it. And the result is a testament to how wonderful and beautiful the place is. Excellent shot.

fill flash on the foreground.. or a grad ND filter, (foreground more light, sky less)  would have made a more interesting photo.

Thanks every body for the comments and ratings, much appreciated.Thomas...There is a caption under the photo how the shot was taken and processed,as for flash..the monastery in the foreground is about quarter of a mile away and the rocks on the left are half a mile away.Flash fill in is for extremely close things.

A beautiful shot of Meteora, under difficult lighting conditions. I like the warm rays of sunlight. Good work, Harry !
