Clematis

This grows in our backyard and you only see the white flowers for a

brief period each spring. The vine it grows on is very hardy and has

taken over a large section of fence. Comments are always welcome.

One of my favourite flowers!

I like the natural angle and the fine textures you have captured in the petals. You seem to have nailed both the exposure (not always easy with such pale colours) and dof. I noticed you have a ISO setting of 1250 was it dusk, or perhaps you used automatic settings?  Either way, a very nice result!

Hi Alf, Thanks for stopping by. Yes it was dusk and I think I was on auto ISO also. I was testing a new used lens. This was shot at 300mm and hand held. The lens is a Canon 70-300 IS DO. I could never afford this lens new, as I also thought it very overpriced, but when I came across a high quality used version from a reliable source I thought I would roll the dice. So far I have liked the results. Thanks again and I will see you soon.

An aesthetically beautiful image my friend.

The zoom lens (I have it in my collection) works well at F/5.6 , too.

I usually use this lens from wide open at any zoom setting to F/8 maximum.

Nice angle to get a dark background to set off the white and purple. You also see the center of the flower standing up nicely with this angle. Your focus and FStop seem to be set to keep both flower centers in good focus. Nice work.
