A wonderful scene Alf. I wish I had boats in the middle of the beach for me to photograph :).

I assume once the tide comes in that boat floats again or what is the deal here?

Many Thanks for your interest and kind words.

In all honesty I had this one kicking about on my desktop for a few weeks before I posted it, and I was really genuinely surprised at how popular is seems.

The UK is an area of great photo opportunities, but I guess its just a case of scale, the UK is  only 600 miles North to South and 280 East to West, I live right in the middle but on the West coast, so pretty much everywhere is reachable. But within 30 minutes of my location there is some amazing photo opportunities.

Cheers Bill!

JOE

Great to hear from you, I hope you are keeping well!

The boat does indeed float when the tide comes in, and there are a few other fishing boats behind me out of shot.  The location is known as "The Wirral Peninsular"  a piece of land that divides the River Mersey from the River Dee.  "Meols" is the beach at the end of the peninsular where this was taken, and the tide goes out for miles over a large flat area of sand It comes back in very quickly too, so you have to be very careful.

Sincere Thanks & Best Regards

Hi Alf-Visually, a super image. A perfect setting for the closing of another day, a pleasure to sit back & relax & enjoy this fine scene Any image that invokes an emotional response , good or bad, is a superior image & this one is definitely superior.Believe it to be one of your very best, if not the best.& also could be. a good metaphor Like how all the lines lead to the setting sun & how the bright rays nicely balance the image Still amazed at the number of comments you receive, you must be the grand master of comments. Very Best Regards-Ross

I think you are perfectly correct with your words "Any image that invokes an emotional response, is a superior image"

And it is most gratifying to read that you apply it to this iamge.

The said emotional response is something I strive for, but one rarely gets to know when its successful.

As for the comments......I don't know why the images attract so many, but I'm very grateful to get the feedback good or bad, its much more useful than any rating.

Warm Regards

Alf
