Hello. I am new here so I would like to introduce myself. I am Ken from las

vegas. I am new to photgraphy (been doing for about a month) and I am

hooked. I am looking for advice on this photo and others in my gallery.

They are all insect photos done with macro. Could you please take a look

and give an opinion or tips. I have a canon t2i with the 18-55 kit lens and a

70-300 lens. I also have a set of diopters and extension tubes. Thanks in

advance. Also, these aren't all of my work. I have some that are better

that I will upload later. Take care and thanks for any advice

I first started trying to photograph live insects in 1964, and I'd be thrilled to get something this good a few times a season even now.  I strongly agree with your decision not to crop closer to the grasshopper.  The brown tips on the leaves mirroring the dark grasshopper wings make for a great composition.

I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Regards, Tom
