Phillip, You have lovely colors here but are having a sharpness problem.  Notice that a tine green weed at lower left is sharp, but the real subject is not.  I am guessing but I'll bet you used the auto focusing mechanism in your camera.  With closeups it is often better to turn that auto focus off and learn to manually focus.  A good way to do that is to stick some nails in the ground, or a board, about one each inch.  Then get down at one end and practice focusing on each nail, one at a time.  Notice that if you are really close only one tail (maybe two) will be sharp at any one setting.
