kirigoi 0 Posted May 29, 2013 A lovely expressive portrait and excellent monochrome conversion (assuming it wasn't originally film!). I especially like the tonality of his skin (especially his hand), and the lovely texture of his shirt; good control of exposure here. A few little technical issues prevent it from being perfect for me though: Finer control of depth of field would be good as the background is a little distracting; the varied textures come through strongly; breaking the silhouette and competing with the main subject. Secondly his eyes seem quite dull and could perhaps be enlivened a little in post. Finally, I'd like to see a bit more detail in the image as a whole; perhaps through uploading at a slightly higher resolution; a high pass overlay or unsharp mask applied to his beard would also be good as it lacks a little in subjective sharpness.
