A very nice facial expression, with good camera-eye contact and a charming near smile on the face.  You do have a problem with what I like to called a "light-trap."  The top of the railing photographs with a much lighter tonality than the child's face and garment and the viewer's eye is always dragged away by the brightest object.  It traps the light and traps the viewer's eye and pulls the vision away from the face.  The only way out of that here would be to find another angle.

Jerry

Thanks friends Jerry and Ruud ...

Dear Jerry,

Thanks for your kind words and advice ... In fact this one was taken in colour - desaturated and added the tones as I mention in the EXIF info. The original version still has the same problem, but IMHO on a bit lesser scale than this one above ... I will try to post that one too ...

I have realized the angle problem once I have seen this image on my screen, but in reality - the other side of this little guy was a small lake-ish water source, where a number of sea gulls were present and I was there capturing them when this cute little master appeared there ... You can guess the dilemma I had and well, this is what happens :-(

Thanks for taking time to leave a detailed comment ... It is highly appreciated ...

The sepia tones really highlight this young person's sweet face.  This image is well composed, with sufficient detail to bring out the "nubs" in his sweater.

Very well done!
