Ah! Who will give in and who will win!  I looked at the next picture hoping you had a sequence but I can only guess. My betting money goes to the left one because he is higher and probably has more leverage.

Rudy, This is well composed, exposed and finished.  I am going to add it to my list of favorites.

I have a degree in biology but I am not sure exactly what we are looking at.  Can you give me any more information or perhaps tell me in what part of the world you created the photo?  My first guess is that they are insect larvae or caterpillars and the green is protective coloration to make them look like leaves to predators.

Yes , You are right.. The larvae pictured above are the fourth instar of the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail. The first three instars are bird-dropping mimics. This caterpillar acquires its green color during the fourth instar. The artificial eyespots are on the top of the rearmost thoracic segment. 

I hv taken this shot at my home town which is situated at North East of India .
