Bill J Boyd 65,521 Posted March 9, 2013 This is so good. You are a very lucky man to be able to photograph bald eagles. Looks like he was heading toward his nest. Link to comment
jim_j2 9 Posted March 9, 2013 Have been observing two separate Bald Eagle Nests since moving here to Oklahoma. Armed with a lot of patience and persistance has afforded me some wonderful opportunities and, I look even more forward for the opportunities if and when the "chicks" arrive! Thanks for viewing, comments/critique, post processing advice, ratings and, allowing me the opportunity to share! Thanks again, Jim j. Link to comment
jim_j2 9 Posted March 9, 2013 Thanks,Yes, you are absolutely correct, this one is about to land on the nest! They spend much time in a near tree about 75 yards from the nest and will sometimes move back and forth. This is from the nest that is out in a Cow pasture. I don't think they have any eggs at this nest. I've seen both a pair of mature Eagles here but, also a mature and Juvenile so, I'm really not certain just whats going on!However, the other nest on the island in the Grand River I am certain has eggs. There is always one of the Eagles on that nest at all times. I've even observed them "changing the watch" to sit on the nests. Unfortunately that location does not get "good light" to photograph them because of the surrounding hills and trees. It is fun to watch though because of being in the middle of the Heron Rookery. Thanks again Bill,Jim j. Link to comment

Larry_G1664882113 15 Posted July 4, 2013 Jim, To see a bald eagle like this is amazing enough; to get a sharp capture like this is fantastic. Great job. Ordinarily, I'd be clone out those tree branches, but they help to give this image both direction of motion and balance. Wonderful shot. Thanks for visiting my images as well. Larry Link to comment
