Definitely it is an outstanding work. And because it's highly appealing to me, I liked to put some of my touches. Best regards

excellent image...brilliantly composed...distinct boathouse at its point of interest amidst this misty and dreamy environment...very appealing... the reflection and cloudscape fulfill the drama of this picture...just brilliant

The subtle brilliance of your original submission stands out for me. A remarkably nuanced composition with very judicious processing. A pleasure to view... thank you!

Many thanks for your thoughtful considered feedback, very much appreciated!

Its very gratifying to read that you concur with the "fog remaining fog" aspect of the scene, I have made the mistake in the past of processing foggy images with the same kind of settings that I would apply generally to most images, and consequently lost all the original mood. This time I took a "less is more" stance with the processing, and yes also with the composition too, there is nothing cropped from the orginal file.

In fact there isn't very much changed at all from what I could see through the viewfinder.

Cheers Marjolein!

DONNA

Sincere thanks for your interest and positive feedback.

Christal made some interesting changes, and the crop was almost identical to the next photo that I took whilst at the scene. So I can't say that I disagree with it, as it has valid qualities and aesthetics. But from the two images I prefer this "watercolour" rendition.

Cheers Donna!

Many Thanks for your thoughts and interesting alternative processing touches. I have always found it quite difficult to retain the foggy quality of images as I have seen them with my eyes, but I think I pulled it off this time. I am so very pleased it appealed to you.

Sincere Thanks for your most encouraging feedback! Perhaps photographers are not supposed to have preferences amongst thier own works, but if I am allowed to state a preference amongst mine, this has to be high on my list.

I like your foggy original, it has an atmospher, and even a bit of mystery, the bright line adds the light o the whole. Very nice execution.

(I wrote  you a second answer at  your comment on the cranes photo....)

Many Thanks for your interest and thoughtful feedback.

I agree the foggy element does add a hint of mystery, and although I'm always open to suggestions, in this case the original seems hard to beat.

Pnina I have read with interest your second answer, ref the Cranes Image. Thank You.

Wonderful capture, love the softness of this scene has one of those storybook looks about kind of a dreamlike feeling. The fog gives much beauty and softness to this scene.  Great capture of a beautiful place!  Best regards,   Sherry

Beautiful image.  Seems very quiet and relaxing in this area.  I looked at the other alternatives for this shot, but I still prefer this one with the misty look.

Yes, indeed, you have pulled this one off very nice.

Kind regards

I quite like that "Story Book" analogy, it kind of fits in with this beautiful area of the UK (Cumbria Lake District) reknowned to inspire great writers like "Beatrix Potter" and great Poets like William Wordsworth, to name but a few.  I dare say it has inspired quite a few photographers too : - )

Many Thanks for your interest and thoughtful feedback Sherry, very much appreciated!

Many Thanks for your thoughts and positive feedback.  The area is indeed a haven of tranquility, there are so many tiny little roads that lead to places of outstanding natural beauty, it would take a lifetime to see it all.

I'm glad you liked the original version, I too think it keeps all of the intended softness and misty appeal.

Best Regards
