The image has a very good depth. You transformed the street into a scene. In my taste you over did the handling of the colors. The pavement almost turned into milk ?

Thank you Tommy,Thank you all.Manipulating the colors does have nothing with the reflection from the street stones, and it in truely a matter of taste as you claimed.

I prefered that because of the whole strong colored merchandise around, even complete b&w option would not do it as it is now.

Thanks again for your attention and comment.

Regards.Hanan.

This image is quite exceptional. The range of textures this stretch of street provided is incredible, from the curved wires on the ceiling and top side fans, to the vertical and parallel patterns of the walls, whose monotony is broken by the soft texture of the cotton and knitted clothing hanging by, to the fresh candle wax textured cobble stones on the floor. You certainly managed to captured it all quite well, first with great composition, then precise exposure between such extreme shadows and highlights, and finally by your black and white digital manipulation. The texture of the street also resembles that of freshly deposited calcium carbonate on stalactites or stalagmites in caves (not sure if you've seen it before?). This photograph provides a ghostly feeling while being at the same time very inviting. The presence of the old man, quietly sitting on the side, awaiting to glance a what appears to be a potentially attractive young woman walking towards, provides that sense of safety and security in a street where some might feel apprehension instead. Great work. Best regards, Alfredo Chirinos.

G'day Mr Singer,

As mentioned above, I truly think this is a great shot. It is difficult to shoot an image that is overcrowded with information, textures, shapes and subjects and still find a great artistic balance. This shot is a good example for this. The problem of course is that our eyes see a lot of things around us but our brain manages to just focus our attention to that which pleases us, so even a complicated image can be beautiful "in our minds". However, a camera sees everything without prejudice or preference. Only a good photographic technique can achieve a balance in such complicated environments, by the appropriate use of depth of filed, focus, composition, saturation, etc. Please remember to click on a comment should you find it very useful. Best regards, Alfredo Chirinos.
