A return to a favourite location and a shot of the cottage at Amnodd

Pwll at the base of Arenig Fawr. This was taken from a similar spot as

I took in October and it was fascinating to see the difference the

seasons make of the landscape.

Nice image, John.  I am thinking of other possibilities as well - what if the mill or house were more forward and to the right?  There's and interesting s curved path, creek, or road to the left of the building.  It as well as the building might lead the eye through the image creating a greater sense of depth?  Please pardon my thinking out load with you here.  Best to you.  Stay warm.  Larry

I'm echoing Larry thoughts; I wish I could pan a bit either to the right or left.  The foreground grasses are great elements, and they give a bit of warmth to the scene.

There's such drama in the sky, it's deserves more of the frame. It might also be a more vibrant image by panning right slightly, putting the house on the 1/3 line, and also tilting up to put the horizon on one of the 1/3 lines. I would have gone for a lot more sky in this shot as there are some interesting lines leading from bottom left to top right -

1. the line of cloud leading of the peak

2. the road leading off to the right from the house

3 and a couple of more subtle lines

Many thanks for your thoughts, I will go back and look at some of the other shots to see if they could fulfill some of your suggestions.

Thanks again for the feedback, very much appreciated.

Superb composition, I really like touch of colour in the foreground and the angle of the house.  Very natural looking winter scene!

Compliments & Best Regards
