There's something about these pictures and the country they describe: the rugged, rolling hills that are almost mountains; the sky with its scudding clouds; and the rich and dappled colors of the light on the hillside. Like Brigadoon, it seems a magical place, emerging from the mists of time every hundred years for one brief, glorious day in the sun.
