While the haze is undoubtedly natural, this is one where I'd try to increase the contrast to reduce the effect of the haze as much as possible, simply to emphasize the turbulent water and rocks this kayaker is contemplating.  It's a powerful photograph and will be appreciated by those who pursue the sport to this degree.  I must admit that if I were carrying the kayak, I'd be backing up, or perhaps asking you if you'd like to trade equipment.
